FRANCE GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS FOR ESWATINI

The Alliance Francaise in Mbabane has announced that Embassy of France in Mozambique and Eswatini is launching a new scholarship campaign intended for Mozambican and Eswatinian citizens, holders of solid study and professional projects, wishing to continue their studies in France, master and doctorate levels, in French or in English, from September 2021. These scholarships are funded by the Government of France. All areas of study are eligible and women are strongly encouraged. Apply before Friday December 11, 2020.



ELIGIBILITY

  1. Masters scholarship: B2 in French for French language taught programs, and A2 in French plus B2 in English or Equivalent for English taught programs

  2. Doctorate scholarship: C1 in French for French-taught programs, and A2 in French plus C1 or Equivalent in English for English taught programs


SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS

The master's scholarship includes:

  • The visa and visa administration fee

  • Transport back from your city of residence in Eswatini to the city where your university is located in France (only 1 return trip during the 2 years of the master's degree).

  • A subsistence allowance of 700 euros / month (E13,800 per month) from September to June for each academic year.

  • The scholarship is maintained during the mandatory internship period indicated in the training calendar, regardless of the location of the internship.

  • University training and enrollment expenses (maximum limit of 5,000 euros)

  • Social security and repatriation insurance

  • A subsidy of 700 euros / month (E13,800 per month) from September to June

  • Annual training allowance: 700 euros / academic year (E13,800 / year)


The doctoral scholarship includes:

  • The visa and visa administration fee

  • Transport to and from your city of residence in Eswatini to the city where your university is located in France (4 for the entire duration of the PhD)

  • The plane ticket from Maputo and the transfer to the city where your university is located in France

  • A subsistence allowance of 1,060 euros / month (E20,800 per month) during the 4 stays in France (3 stays of 6 months spread over the 3 years of the doctorate and a 2 week stay to defend the thesis).

  • University training and enrollment fees (for a maximum amount of 5,000 euros) (E98,180)

  • Social security and repatriation insurance

  • Annual training allowance: 700 euros / academic year (E13,800 / year)


Attention: all amounts indicated are subject to change as a result of adjustments to the French budgetary and regulatory framework.


HOW TO APPLY

  • Send the following documents below by e-mail to scholarships.maputo-amba@diplomatie.gouv.fr (those indicated by * are compulsory): Curriculum vitae in the language of training requested, Cover letter in the language of training requested, university diploma (s) or certificate (s) of successful completion of the diploma (s), research project in the language of training requested (2 pages maximum): you will present the topic of research that you would like to develop for a master's or doctorate in France, passport or identity card if no passport, Certificate in French (DELF, DALF, Test de Connaissance du Français) or English (TOEIC, TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge certificate) depending on the course chosen, Letter (s) of recommendation signed, with the institution's stamp and contact (university manager, professor, hierarchical superior, etc.), Correspondence with one or more French universities (training envisaged, supervision of the thesis, etc.)

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • The excellence of the university course (results, participation in research programs or conferences, publications, etc.).

  • A clear study plan that is consistent with the previous academic and / or professional career.

  • The coherence of the professional project in Mozambique. A formal commitment from the person concerned to return to work in a Mozambican university or institution is highly desirable.

  • An active search for universities and a research director likely to supervise you will be valued.


DELF and DALF Exams

The DELF (Diplôme d'Études en Langue Française) and the DALF (Diplôme Approfondi en Langue Française) are official diplomas issued by the French Ministry of National Education, to certify the French skills of foreign candidates. The exams are organized in May and November each year in Maputo, Beira, Nampula and Quelimane at the Franco-Mozambican Cultural Center and in the language institutes.


The DELF consists of 4 independent diplomas, corresponding to the first four levels of the Common European of Reference for Languages ​​(A1, A2, B1 B2). The DALF consists of 2 diplomas corresponding to the two upper levels of the same European framework (C1, C2).
