MTN FOUNDATION INJECTS E200 000 TO CIJA NGEBHIZINISI

MTN Foundation has injected E200 000 in the Cija Ngebhizinisi radio programme which they are hosting in conjunction with SEDCO. This was revealed during the second edition launch of ‘Cija Ngebhi-zinisi’, a radio show aired on EBIS 1. The launch was at the SEDCO head offices.

Making her remarks, MTN Foundation Chairperson Busisiwe Simelane said the launch of the show seeks to support upcoming enterprises with an assortment of skills, business knowledge and information.

Platforms

She said in the past year, the programme has been a re-sounding success in different ways. “Over 18 weeks, this radio programme kept its target audience engaged through different social media platforms and an assortment of incentives to those who tuned in each week. “Most importantly, it has provided adequate practical business information to upcoming entrepreneurs and the public giving them a head start in the world of business. This year, we are excited to witness another series of ‘Cija Ngebhizinisi’, which will be run on national radio,” she said. She said she had no doubt in her mind that, just like last year the programme would be a door-way, inspiring the establishment of new businesses.

Advantage

“Additionally, this radio programme will contribute to the strengthening of existing small and micro businesses. It is an established fact that where there is mis-information or no information, it is likely that people will not take advantage of opportunities that life presents them because they will not be prepared for them. This radio programme is about preparation of entrepreneurs for success regardless of the phase their business could be,” she said.

Indication

Simelane said MTN Foundation was additionally excited that the partnership with SEDCO has been growing and that they are running the program jointly once again, which is clearly an indication of close collaboration with SEDCO. “Through this partnership, MTN is making it possible for SMEs under SEDCO’s incubation programme to have access to MTN Business solution packages. These packages are useful in a sense that upcoming enterprises are enabled to scale up their competitiveness. MTN Founda-tion is additionally grateful to government’s commitment to grow entrepreneurship in the Kingdom of Eswatini, building up to 2022 and beyond,” she said.
