The Türkiye Scholarships applications for 2021 is open until 20 February 2021 for international students from all countries including Eswatini. Applications for this full scholarship package are open to applicants who wish to study at bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels full time. It is notable that medicine, dentistry and pharmacy courses are all eligible for this scholarship, furthermore that students with EGCSE are eligible to apply. What makes Türkiye Scholarships unique is that it’s not only inclusive of financial support, tuition fee, accommodation and health insurance but also provides university placement and academic, social and cultural facilities to its awardees at all levels of higher education. Previous scholars from Eswatini have pursued studies in medicine, economics, pharmacy, insurance and risk management, agriculture, international trade, veterinary medicine, zoology, biology and others.
HOW TO APPLY
Applicants must have excellent academic results. For medicine, dentistry and pharmacy they must have an average of 90% to apply, and 70% average for social sciences and other programs. It is important to have the relevant subjects for the courses you are interested in. In addition, applicants for the scholarship program must demonstrate financial need.
All applications for this opportunity are done online. There are no forms that you fill out and send through the post, email or hand deliver that are allowed. Applications are done on the website https://www.turkiyeburslari.gov.tr/. All application materials must be uploaded on this website. There are no agents or other consultants that are allowed to apply on your behalf or receive applications. There is no application fee.
The application is for both the scholarship and university placement in Turkey. Applicants will be placed in a university and program among their 12 preferences which they choose from the application system. There are 207 universities in Turkey with 60,000 different programs. Turkey is part of the European Higher Education Area hence the qualification you receive from a university in Turkey is recognized in all European countries.
REQUIREMENTS
The selection of candidates is carried out according to academic achievement and interview performance. Turkey Scholarships is a program based on academic success of the candidates. All candidates must submit the following documents during the online application:
Applicants for bachelors degree must be 21 years and below, masters must be 30 years and below, and phd must be 35 years and below.
Valid national ID or passport
A recent photo
National exam score (e.g. EGCSE / NSC / Cambridge AS level results)
Diploma or certificate of graduation
Academic transcripts or reports, preferably certified
International exam score (GRE, GMAT, etc if required by chosen program or university)
Language test scores (e.g. IELTS if required by chosen university)
A research proposal and example of your written work (PhD only)
SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
The Turkey scholarships consist of these opportunities covers:
University and program placement
Accommodation: Turkey scholarship students can stay in public university dormitories without paying any fee.
Flights: once-off return flight from your country
Tuition and Fees: Turkey scholarship students do not pay any tuition or university for education
Health expenses: Turkey scholarship students are covered by public health insurance.
Turkish Language Course: Turkey scholarship students take a year long Turkish language course, although their university education will be in English.
Transportation: Turkey scholarship students will get a certain amount of money for their transportation expenses at their first arrival to Turkey and departure after graduation from Turkey.
University and program placement for 4-6 years undergraduate programs, 2-year masters degree programs and 4 year PhD programs
The student allowance is disbursed as such:
800 Turkish Lira / E1,600 per month for undergraduate students
1100 Turkish Lira / E2200 per month for Master’s students
1600 Turkish Lira/ E3200 per month for Ph.D. students
