MTN EDUCARE RADIO
Mtn Educare is a radio programme for Grade7, Form III and V pupils, that tackles some of the challenging and problematic areas in certain subjects. It aims to broaden pupils’ understanding of topics perceived to be difficult in a way that is engaging and enjoyable to learners.
MTN Foundation, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Training and EBIS, is changing the learning environment by making the classroom more digital and available through the radio/electronic platform.
The show not only helps the youth but also adults who would like to polish their skills in the difficult subjects.
The MTN Foundation launched a partnership with Young Heroes Swaziland and Swaziland Skills Centre in 2016 in the form of a Vocational Scholarship Fund to benefit the country’s marginalised, orphaned and vulnerable youth.
The objective of the MTN Vocational Scholarship fund is to capacitate the youth with vocational skills to empower them to be active contributors to the economy and to increase self-employment and employability prospects.
The investment was utilised to pay tuition fees for 50 students and equipping Swaziland Skill Centre's plumbing unit in Nhlangano. A total of 150 students have received fully funded scholarships.
MTN FOUNDATION's #MTNCijaNgebhizinisi radio show has since been officially launched! This was done at the SECO Head Office; where the announcement of the first episode airing on the 13th of September on EBIS was made.
